| Description: | SonyBMG chose Richmond Studios to complete the Dual Disc mastering of 20 of Michael Jackson's most popular music videos of all time. The Dual Disc format, a combination of a CD and a DVD with one format on each side of the disc houses the original music videos including radio and 12" versions. The key visual idea was derived from a 'pixelated' image of the singer's head that adorns the packaging. For the DVD, Richmond Studios transformed this into a stunning animation, composed using a combination of Photoshop and After Effects, in which tiny video clips, like pixels flying through space, fly in to form the head. The overall design for the introduction and menu was intended to be "classy and simple, exploring Michael Jackson's style". Featuring some glitzy special effects and specially created sound effects, SonyBMG were delighted with the result. During the design process, full use of Richmond's web-based collaboration system, enabling SonyBMG representatives on both sides of the Atlantic to view the work in progress. The first of the 20 discs released on 20th February 2006, the rest to follow. |
